Here I was learning to write instructions.I have learnt that instructions MUST be in the right order. I found it easy to write instructions because I just had to think and write carefully. We are writing instructions because we were cooking. We are writing instructions about how to cook.

Healthy eating

On the last day of term 3, I brought in a recipe book to share with the class. I had been talking about the vegetables at home. Mum and I had marked some pages in the recipe book, which had recipes that we could use next term. How exciting!

Trip to Te Tuhi

We had an amazing trip to Te Tuhi. We painted colour wheels. It was fun to paint. We smelled the coffee. It smelled delicious. I saw acorns on a tree. They were very small. I heard a woodpecker. It was very hard to hear. I felt happy because it was fun.

Making connections

Making a connection can be connecting to a story to another story. A connection is when the story reminds you of something that happened to you or someone that you know. Making a connection is easy.

Making a plan for my story

We are learning to make a plan. We can make a plan for any story. Making a plan helps us to remember what happened and to write about it. We need to remember to have a topic and at least 3 ideas about the topic in our plan. It is easy to make a plan.

Adding detail means our story can answer the questions who, where, when, what how and why. Detail means there will be more information . It makes the story more interesting. It makes a picture in the reader's head. It can be tricky to add detail.
